Announcing PlatformCon San Francisco

Published on

We're super excited to announce that PlatformCon is coming to San Francisco. San Francisco and Silicon Valley have always been a buzzing centre for the Platform Engineering community, and so it's about time!

The event will take place on the 24th and 25th of February 2027 at Convene 100 Stockton.

The focus topic will be "Building platforms for developers and agents" and will go into the details on how to transform from building and managing Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) to Agentic Engineering Platforms (AEPs) at scale.

We will be covering topics like how to design governed paths a human or an agent can invoke, how infrastructure has to evolve to scale at agent speed, how to design secure loops at scale, how to deal with the scoping of identity, evaluation as a release gate, and what the token bill does when you get it wrong.

Throughout talks, workshops and roundtables, we will together work on what architectural decisions to take today to future-proof your platform and discover where the bleeding edge is right now. We'll also focus on the implications for the org structure and how to master the change, and this will take us back to the very fundamentals of Platform Engineering.

We'll hear from the people that shaped the discipline and the practitioners that run these platforms at scale. The good, the bad and the ugly.

If you are implementing these platforms, lead the team that does so, or are about to, and you come from the field of Platform Engineering, SRE, DevOps, Cloud Ops or Infrastructure, this is a must attend.

Day 2 is co-located with AgenticCon. While day one is focused on humans and agents pairing up to deliver software, day two is the co-located day with AgenticCon. AgenticCon is especially for AI Platform Teams, the people that are building the infrastructure that agents for any other business vertical run on. Talks, hands-on workshops, the platform engineering training track, and roundtables run by industry, because the constraints a bank works under are not a footnote. If becoming an AI Platform Team is on your radar, day 2 is a must too.

We already have several goats like Kelsey Hightower and Caroline Wong confirmed, but the CfP remains open! We intentionally set a high bar: we are seeking leaders who either shaped this discipline or operate it at maximum scale. In particular, we are looking for the unspoken talks, from stalled rollouts and canceled initiatives to the complex challenges no one actively volunteers to share.
